The Beginning of the Journey

The Beginning of the Journey

From garage sessions to a drum & bass label.

There was a time when I could never have imagined that one day I would own a drum & bass record label and dedicate such a significant part of my life to this culture. It all started quite simply โ€” without grand plans, huge ambitions, or a clear understanding of where this path would eventually lead.
In my early twenties, I was writing my first lyrics over borrowed beats, spending evenings in small garages or rented apartments with friends. Back then, it felt like the future was endless and that any dream could be caught if you were willing to run fast enough. There was a lot of energy, a lot of mistakes, and an even greater desire to prove to myself โ€” and to the world โ€” that anything was possible.

The Beginning of the Journey

Life was not always easy. The streets raised me in many ways โ€” a place where words carried weight and mistakes stayed with you for a long time. There were difficult choices, highs and lows, disappointments, and moments when starting over was the only option. But those experiences built resilience and taught me how to keep moving forward when circumstances suggested otherwise. Music was always there, and over time it became something much bigger than just a hobby.
At the time, I had no idea that this passion for music would eventually lead me into drum & bass culture and become the foundation of my own record label. Looking back today, I realize that every mistake, every victory, and every chapter of that journey was part of a much larger story โ€” a story that is still being written.

FAQ

What was the biggest turning point in your journey into music?
The biggest turning point wasn't a single event, but the moment I realized that music was no longer just a hobby. It became a constant part of my life โ€” something that stayed with me through challenges, victories, and personal growth. From that point forward, I knew I wanted to build something meaningful around it.
What kept you moving forward during difficult times?
Persistence. There were many moments when giving up would have been the easier option. But every challenge taught me something valuable. Looking back now, I understand that the difficult periods shaped my character just as much as the good ones.
Why drum & bass?
Drum & bass was never just about fast rhythms or heavy basslines for me. It was the energy, the emotion, and the freedom that attracted me. The culture felt real, honest, and constantly evolving. The deeper I went, the more I felt connected to it.
If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Trust the process. Not every setback is a failure, and not every delay is a loss. Some of the things that seemed impossible at the time eventually became part of the journey that led me exactly where I needed to be.
