Some people enter your life unexpectedly and leave a mark long before you realize how important they will become.Many years ago, our paths crossed on a filming set. At the time, it seemed like an ordinary meeting between creative people. Nothing suggested that this encounter would one day grow into a long journey that would connect our lives through music, creativity, and shared ambitions.Oksana Chorna, known today as Tornada, had already experienced more than many artists her age. She had spent several years working in China, explored a completely different culture, gained valuable life experience, and later appeared on The Voice of Ukraine, one of the country's most recognized television music projects.

Nights Filled With Music and Ideas
Our connection grew naturally through creativity.There were no contracts, no management agreements, and no discussions about building a career together. There was simply a shared passion for music and the creative process.We spent countless evenings discussing ideas, recording demos, filming videos, and meeting producers, sound engineers, photographers, videographers, and other creative people who became part of our world.Some projects came to life. Others remained unfinished sketches of what could have been. Yet every conversation, every session, and every collaboration added something valuable to our journey.
Those years were not about business.They were about creating.About experimenting.About discovering possibilities.
Looking back now, I realize that those years gave us much more than music. They gave us trust, experience, and a deeper understanding of how each of us approached creativity.
When Life Took Us in Different Directions
As often happens in life, our paths eventually began to separate.New opportunities appeared. Different responsibilities demanded attention. Priorities changed.Without any conflict or dramatic ending, communication gradually became less frequent until it almost disappeared completely.Years passed.Life moved forward.Each of us followed a different road.For a long time, it seemed that our story had simply become another chapter from the past โ an important memory, but nothing more.Neither of us could have imagined that one day those roads would cross again.
The Message That Changed Everything
In 2022, the full-scale war in Ukraine began and changed the lives of millions of people.The future became uncertain. Priorities shifted. Many people were forced to rebuild their lives from the ground up.Nearly a year after the beginning of the full-scale war, after a very long period without communication, I received a message from Oksana.
It was short.Simple.Unexpected."Alex, I dreamed about you today."At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary message.

At first about life, then about the past, and eventually about music. We discussed mistakes, lessons, experiences, and everything that had happened while our paths were separate.One thing became immediately clear:Neither of us was the same person anymore.The years had changed us.The challenges had changed us.And perhaps because of that, we were finally ready to build something new.
Building Tornada's New Chapter
By that point, my own position within the music industry had changed significantly.Years of work had brought new knowledge, stronger industry connections, and a much deeper understanding of artist development. I had learned that talent alone is never enough.An artist needs vision.An artist needs strategy.An artist needs consistency.Most importantly, an artist needs people who genuinely believe in the project.As our conversations continued, it became obvious that Tornada still possessed everything that had made her unique from the very beginning.
A powerful voice.Natural charisma.Authenticity.A story worth telling.None of those qualities had disappeared.They had simply been waiting for the right moment to return.What remained was to create the right environment for those qualities to grow.
Turning Potential Into Reality
Today, many people know Tornada through her releases, performances, collaborations, and growing reputation within the drum & bass scene.They see the finished result.What they don't always see is everything that happened behind the scenes to make those results possible.The years of uncertainty.The difficult conversations.The lessons learned through failure.The periods of silence.The moments when continuing forward felt much harder than walking away.For me, this story has never been solely about becoming someone's producer, manager, or label partner.
It became a reminder that some people enter our lives for a reason.Sometimes they leave.Sometimes years pass without a single conversation.And then, when you least expect it, a message appears.A simple message.A message that reminds you that not every chapter is meant to end.Some chapters are simply waiting for the right moment to continue.Looking back now, I realize that "Alex, I dreamed about you today" was not merely the beginning of a conversation.It was the beginning of an entirely new future.And perhaps the most exciting part of all is that this story is still being written.
